A Public-Private Initiative to create World Class Next Generation Wireless Technology in India.

The Centre of Excellence in Wireless Technology (CEWiT) is an independent research organisation set up by the Ministry of Information Technology, Government of India (MIT) in partnership with industry. The TeNeT Group of IIT Madras is playing a key role in incubating the Centre.

CEWiT aims to be a platform for collaboration between academic research labs, private sector companies and the government with the vision of providing significant inputs to standardization activities in future wireless standards, and developing indigenous next generation wireless technologies/products in India. CEWiT is currently funded by the MIT and industry sponsors.
